Halloween month was FULL OF WITCHES (god bless #Inktober) and great aesthetic themes aaaallll around and I am actually Mushu when he's first called on by the guardians. You know the gif, right?
Yeah, well. That was me. Like, the entire month.
And what a good month it was, actually! I'm surprised. I don't know why but I'm just so glad?? October wasn't a trashfire month? So! This seems like a good time to see why it wasn't garbage—other than the fact that it was Halloween.
♩ I reached 800 followers on Twitter! What a milestone!
♩ I reached my goal of 100 books read for the GoodReads challenge! (Still 21 books ahead and hopefully going STRONG. Soon.)
♩ This is a Thing that Actually Happened:
♩ I announced that I am, indeed, participating in Nation Novel Writing Month, AKA NaNoWriMo
♩ People actually wanted to know about the book (WHAT) I'll try to be writing??? Wild*
♩ I had a really fun time sharing books I did not like lmao*
♩ I finally reached level 150 and 300k in gear score on this dumb game I play (FINALLY)
♩ BOOK MAIL!!!!
♩ I also think I got approved for this book I requested, I mean, they offered me a blog tour spot (I KNOW) and I accepted SO I THINK THIS IS AN ACTUAL THING THAT'S HAPPENING?
♩ I'm part of an upcoming blog tour! For a book I was super excited about too!
♩ FLOWER CROWNS.
♩ My friend was the Actual Best and got me a Schwab poster from BookCon & an ARC of The Cruel Prince (can u hear me weeping)
♩ I got this gold mine of a comment on my review:
♩ I started Jane the Virgin! It's so much fun!
♩ I'VE BEEN BLOGGING FOR OVER A YEAAAAR!
♩ I made french toast with my friend
♩ I'm almost all done with all my midterms! One more left and I'm excited to be over & done with
♩ I feel like I did some nice things for my friends and it made me really happy
♩ I also got pringles lmao
♩ Warcross in a nominee in the GoodReads Choice Awards for Best YA Sci-fi and you guys need to vote for it
♩ Aaaaand my cover reveal board reached over 1.3k pins! Hoo, boy, that's a lot
*denotes links I'll be posting later on in the post, just because!
I also just got bookmail so I feel like this is a sign. Of what? Well, I do not know, but a sign nonetheless.

the reads
I fell into a slump near the end of the month. I haven't finished a book in about 5 days now and I've been having trouble starting and sticking to any of them, so that sucks. So that's about... 10ish books I read in October? It's not bad, and I'm definitely proud of myself!
♩ Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh { ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫}
♩ The Night Realm by Annette Marie { ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♪ }
♩ The Night Realm by Annette Marie { ♫ ♫ ♫ ♫ ♪ }
A lot of these were great reads, so I'm happy!

beat the backlist update!
If you aren't familiar with Beat the Backlist, you can check HERE for my post or HERE for the original post on Novel Knight.
Yay for an actual backlist book this month! My friend convinced me to read it and I actually really liked Lady Midnight despite it being so damn BIG. (Really? Does it really need 700 pages? No!)
I'll probably pick up Lord of Shadows soon, but with the last book coming out a bit later next year, I think I'll wait a bit.

recent happenings
I've decided that this section will be a little look into my personal life and what I was up to, other than reading, during the past month.
Music wise: I've been listening to the same songs over and over and over and I'm desperately in the mood for something brand new guys. It's been Gossip, Alone, and Separate for like half the goddamn month!
I am also relistening to All Time Low's latest album, Last Young Renegade, and I love this album soooooo much, it's ridiculous. I can't believe I just momentarily overlooked it back when it first came out. Practically every song is perfect.
I also gave PVRIS's latest album a listen to again—I didn't like it the first time around, but two songs stood out—Separate and Same Soul. They've got a cool tune and I'm reallly digging it!
Netflix/TV wise: Allllll my shows are back on! Yay! I'm already behind on them, so that's great, lmao.
I've started watching Jane the Virgin and I'm currently on season 2. It's a funny show with a strange love triangle and I don't know who or what to ship anymore. There's so much drama! How does that much drama even happen to someone? Ridiculous.
Like the masses, I've started and finished season 2 of Stranger Things. I liked it, just as much as I liked the first season, but I wasn't a fan about how this season ended... Or of Eleven, either, if I'm honest. The real star, to be honest, was Will! I loved him so much and his acting was just phenomenal. Also the Dustin and Steve friendship! I'm all for babysitter Steve!
Life wise: I think stress is a constant feeling in my life right now—a constant state of being if you will, so in that regard, nothing else is new, really.
Midterms are almost over, thank god. I think I did okay on one and I'm a bit nervous of the one I have left (it's tomorrow!) but I'm hoping that it'll be okay.
Anyway, things only really happen online for me since real life is so dull. What's happened online? Well, here's a thread of books I didn't like and apparently people like when I share books I hated? Lmao.
So that's fun! And here's a thread of facts—I guess?—from my NaNoWriMo project!
And I think that's pretty much it!

anticipated reads
I think a lot of us literally drowned in books in October. I had a pretty extensive list myself, and I'm so glad that November is a bit... calmer, at least. Here are a few books that I've already read that I think you should pick up!
Releases that I hope to get to soon:
November 7th is a busy, busy day.
♩ Renegades by Marissa Meyer (Nov. 7)
♩ Retribution Rails by Erin Bowman (Nov. 7)
Releases that I hope to get to soon:

TBR—sort of?
I also sort of... want to create a TBR but I know I don't be following it at all, lmao. It's just that I have so many new books that I want to read and no motivation, so having a list makes me feel like I'll somehow get motivated? Weird, I know, but nevertheless: 5 books I hope to get to!
♩ Flashtide by Jenny Moyer (currently reading!)

Happy November, guys! (Again!) Wishing you all the best, all the thankful thoughts, and all the words, of course. I hope your next read brings you immense joy!
