{ Recap } Bookish Resolutions + A Happy New Year!

by - January 01, 2018

TRASHFIRE YEAR IS OVERRRRRR. Goodbye 2017, hello 2018, I am ready for another year of suffering new books and hopefully less cold and all around, general chaos!

December was one of the worst months ever and I hated most of what has happened in it. So instead of my usual focusing on the positive! list, I decided to write up my bookish resolutions!

 read at least 100 books
read one backlist book a month
read series finales! I have the worst habit—I purposely ignore the final books of a series sometimes—esp. if it isn't one of my most anticipated books—and eventually just forget about them
read more during the day and get some sleep, Mith
at least one physical book per month
 post more reviews
 write a goddamn discussion post
 vary what genres I read
switch between ARCs and released books (not necessarily backlist)
request a LOT less—only books I really want to read!
try not to feel guitly for not reading/being in a slump
read for me not for blogging

Aaaaand, I think that is it for me! I'm also getting really tired of constantly pressing shift to make a sentence gramatically correct, but that's unrelated. Moving on!

recent happenings

I've decided that this section will be a little look into my personal life and what I was up to, other than reading, during the past month.

Music wise: I haven't gone out much since the semester ended—and why would I? It's like 10 degrees and I kind of like my limbs intact, thanks. So that means not a lot of new music to play on repeat (I usually listen when I'm outdoors, so yeah). I'll get to why I haven't been listening to new things at home!

But before that, there has been one song! My friend showed me it—and I haven't downloaded it yet, I don't know why, but I do like it! Here's a link to Lewis Capaldi's Mercy.

Netflix/TV wise: Lol. My friend told me about White Collar and we watched like? Two episodes together, but sort of distracted. I wasn't a fan. And I may have said that on twitter and my friends may have changed my mind.

I'm on season 5 now.

I love Neal Caffrey. That's all. That's it.

Life wise: My friend and I went to watch Thor: Ragnarok and I loved it! Another friend sent over a lovely package that made my year.

Otherwise, holiday season wasn't what I hoped it would be.

January only has one book I'm super excited to read, Blood and Sand, and that's pretty much it for that month, haha.

On that note, I'll be ending here! I'm glad 2017 is over and I hope 2018 brings everyone some great things! Happy New Year!
