Emika Chen barely made it out of the Warcross Championships alive. Now that she knows the truth behind Hideo's new NeuroLink algorithm, she can no longer trust the one person she's always looked up to, who she once thought was on her side.

Determined to put a stop to Hideo's grim plans, Emika and the Phoenix Riders band together, only to find a new threat lurking on the neon-lit streets of Tokyo. Someone's put a bounty on Emika's head, and her sole chance for survival lies with Zero and the Blackcoats, his ruthless crew. But Emika soon learns that Zero isn't all that he seems--and his protection comes at a price.

Caught in a web of betrayal, with the future of free will at risk, just how far will Emika go to take down the man she loves?

Oh my god.

Oooooooooh my god. Guys. I can’t. I can’t review this book. It’s just not possible, you know? I could hardly express my thoughts for Warcross because wow, I’d thought I loved that. And now… Just. Wow. This book. It puts the wild in Wildcard and I’m just so dead. (also ba dum tss at that awful pun lol.)

It. Was. So. Good. So good. Wildcard was just as breathtaking and mind boggling and action packed as Warcross. Only. Only, I think it was more, in that way some sequels are? I just felt so much more while reading this, especially in a few specific scenes.

I really think that this is Marie Lu’s best book yet. Everything—down to the dot—was done perfectly. Where I felt Warcross focused on the game (as it should have!) to get readers into the mindset of Warcross and the importance of it to the Phoenix Riders, Wildcard had that emotional connection to it, something that makes you really understand the characters and the reason why they do the things they do.

I don’t even know what else to say about this book. I’m so emotional and so in love with this series, this author, that it is honestly overwhelming. Wildcard was such a perfect finale, everything tied together amazingly. It is an exhilarating ride from start to finish.

Clearly, 5 stars. If you haven’t read Warcross, oh my god, WHYYYYY. Please do it! Please, please, please, and then read this, and then feel free to message me with all your feels BECAUSE THERE WILL BE FEELS. Oh god.

SO YEAH. I love it. Thank u for dealing with me.
