{ Recap } Cakes, Aesthetics, and So Many ARCs!
Hi friends! I'm super late for this wrap up for August, but I desperately wanted and needed to do this, so here we are, 11 days already into the month of September! But without further ado: my August in a nutshell!

Apparently July was a bad month for me. I may or may not have short term memory loss (you can just imagine how books are for me, a year later waiting for the sequel, hah) so I don't remember much only that it sucked.
August, I'm happy to say, was a bit of a brighter month. A lot of things happened, and for a single month, I didn't have to stress over a ton of things, and it just felt easy.
Anyway, before I get to The List, I want to apologise for being so late with this! Between school and bingewatching Once Upon a Time, I just never got around to it, but it's half past ten now so better late than never, right?
♩ I am, once again, caught up on that baaaaad aesthetic thread!
♩ I'm on track with my GR challenge—15 books ahead, somehow.
♩ I turned 19!
♩ I had so much cake!
♩ I got to see Michella a few times over August and hanging out with her is always a bright spot!
♩ A lot of the ARCs I read in August were amazing
♩ My best friend did the sweetest thing for my birthday and it absolutely made me cry
♩ Going off that last one, SHE GOT ME A CROWN!
♩ I reached and surpassed both 700 and 750 followers, somehow.
♩ I participated in a blog tour!
♩ I posted a book question thread that got a lot of attention somehow, wow!
♩ I received a huge package from Entangled Teen full of bookish goodies!
♩ So much swag in the mail! (I got an Elliot print!)
♩ I've made a few new friends on Twitter!
♩ Apparently someone was interested when a review of mine would be up (they sent a question through Tumblr, oh my gosh)
♩ I began Once Upon a Time and it's been good so far!
♩ My friend made me some beautiful aesthetics for three of my main characters, which I am excited to show you guys!
♩ I also may have made a meme lmao
♩ I read a contemporary after what felt like literal years
♩ New lipsticks!
♩ Fries!
♩ POPCORN SHRIMP DATE (yoooo)
♩ Mulan is on Netflix!
♩ I also started school but that's a personal hell y'all don't need
And I think I'm going to end it there, haha. That's a lot of things and I'm probably forgetting loads of other stuff, but it covered most of the important things!

So I ended up reading 10 books this month! I had created a TBR and I found out how very bad I am at keeping track of it and following through. But the books I read were really good for the most part! And here they are...

Sooo, turns out I was right—no backlist books last month! Unfortunate, but it's fine. I've already read one for September, and I do have some others (mostly Sarah Dessen!) that I plan and hope to get to! So more here for the September recap (which I hope isn't late!).

recent happenings
I've decided that this section will be a little look into my personal life and what I was up to, other than reading, during the past month.
Music wise: Hmm. Well, recently Zayn's new single, featuring Sia, was released and it has been my jam, basically. I love it. But that's September, sooo.
Other than that... there's been like maaaaaybe two other songs? Again, no new albums really, other than PVRIS', which was sort of disappointing to me.
The other songs were Goody Grace's Memorie$ and um. An embarrassing song I can't believe I even listen to, but oh well, I'm trash. It's ONE OK ROCK's Take What You Want feeating 5 Seconds of Summer and well. I just don't know, lol.
Netflix wise: For a while, it was Gotham with a friend, whom I no longer talk to, so. The show was awfully boring, so I won't be continuing.
This is, once again, in September, and I've already mentioned it, but: I began Once Upon a Time and I really liked the first 3 and a half seasons. After that, it's been okay, but I'm not as invested or obsessed, so it's really like one or two episodes when I can. I mostly just watch for Hook and Emma now, lol.
Life wise: Hmm, well, August was a very good month for my happiness! I got to see friends, spend time with my best friend a couple of days (she has work so we hardly see each other), and the friends I've drifted from—well, we still talk, but not as much, so that's disheartening—we're still there for each other so that's reassuring.
I saw my twitter friend a lot and each time we had cake! We went biking then the cheesecake factory the two times we saw each other, and while the cakes I got weren't that good, it was still worth it! Here's a thread of the cakes:

I think I read most of my anticipated reads for this year, but here are a few you guys should have on your radar if you don't already!
I don't think I'll have a TBR this month... I'm basically winging everything so hah. But, like I said, there are some Dessen books I hope to get to, as well one or two '18 ARCs!
